VeWorld Wallet

VeWorld Wallet and Claiming Testnet Tokens

Set up your VeWorld wallet, connect to testnet, and claim tokens to start building on VeChain.

Setting Up VeWorld Wallet

Before you can deploy smart contracts or interact with apps on VeChain, you need a wallet that supports the network. In this quick-start lesson, you'll install VeWorld, create a testnet wallet, and claim tokens via the faucet, all in just a few minutes.

Step 1: Install VeWorld Chrome Extension

Head over to veworld.net and install the VeWorld browser extension. This lightweight wallet is designed specifically for VeChain and supports both mainnet and testnet, and is fully compatible with all the great options that VeChain Kit provides out of the box.

The extension installs in seconds and launches a setup wizard automatically.

Step 2: Create Your Wallet

When prompted:

  • Set a strong password you’ll use to unlock the wallet

  • Choose “Create New Wallet

  • Save your seed phrase (recovery words) somewhere safe

  • Confirm a few of your seed phrase words when prompted

Important: Without your recovery phrase, you won’t be able to recover your wallet. Back it up securely and don’t show it to anyone or store it online.

Step 3: Connect to Testnet

By default, VeWorld starts in testnet mode, which is perfect for development. You can later switch to mainnet in the settings when you’re ready to go live.

You’re now connected to the VeChain testnet!

Now that you've created your VeWorld wallet, you will need testnet tokens:

  • VET — used for sending tips

  • VTHO — used for paying gas fees

Step 4: Claim Testnet VET Tokens

To test transactions, you’ll need some free testnet tokens:

  1. Go to the Testnet Faucet

  2. Click “Claim Tokens”

  3. VeWorld will pop up - approve and sign the transaction

  4. Enter your wallet password to confirm

Your testnet VET will appear in your wallet within seconds.

You now have a working VeWorld wallet on testnet and tokens to cover gas. You can begin deploying contracts, signing transactions, or building full-stack apps.
