1. Event Overview
VeChain Global Hackathon - Event name and branding is being considered.
Goals:
Developer Growth: Increase the number of independent developers building in our ecosystem.
Reputation Growth: Increase the number of followers of VeChain Builders.
Sustainability Impact: Grow the number of VeBetter sustainability-focused dApps deployed.
Tooling Feedback: Collect structured feedback to improve developer tools.
Event format: online
Timeline:
Start date: 22.09.25
Submission deadline: 05.10.25 (23:59 UTC)
Judging date: 06.10.25 & 13.10.25
Results announcement date: 13.10.25
2. Eligibility & Registration
All participants must be over the age of 18 at the time of registration.
No geographic restrictions (unless any issues with crypto or bank transfers from the Foundation)
Participation requirement: teams of 2-4 people
KYC after the announcement will be required for teams to receive the hackathon rewards
By registering and submitting a project participants automatically accept these Terms and Conditions.
3. Submission Requirements

Video Presentation (optional but preferred)

File formats and maximum file size:
Video: unlisted on Youtube or public link on Google Drive or Dropbox
Pitch Deck: Link to PDF
Using pre-existing code is allowed unless the code is owned by a third party or its commercial use is protected by license
4. Judging Rules
Evaluation criteria and weighting:
Innovation and Creativity (25%):
Your idea shows novel use of VeChain features to solve real-world problems.
You have used AI to provide added value to the user.
You have a clear idea of why blockchain is needed for your use-case.
Technical Skills (25%):
The design of your dapp is demonstrating ability to write code meant to be maintained
Your dapp has Smooth UX and functionality
You have integrated B3TR as a reward mechanism within the app
You have integrated VeWorld wallet support for seamless B3TR transactions
Impact and Feasibility (25%):
Your dapp shows potential to onboard hundreds of thousands of users.
You have been effective in addressing the targeted problem.
Your dapp is viable in the real-world.
Business model and Research (25%):
Your documentation explaining problem, solution, and impact is complete and compelling.
Your value proposition is agreeable.
You have a good idea of the roadmap, and of how to turn the idea in a sustainable business.
Decision method (scoring system, voting, organizer’s final decision)
Each project will receive a score per each category by at least 2 judges.
For each category above, a judge will assign a mark between 0 and 25. The score of a single judge will be the sum of the 4 marks.
The final score will be the average of all judges’ scores.
If multiple projects share the same score, all judges will have to vote to define which one ranks up.
Appeal or review process for judging results
The process above will be documented and will be available in case of appeal.
The candidate can ask for the procedure after no more than 7 days from the results announcement.
Two more different judges will attribute the new score.
5. Prizes
Prize pool: $30,000 in total
$10,000 per track divided into
1st Prize: $5,000
2nd Prize: $3,000
3rd Prize: $2,000
An additional $2,000 worth of rewards have been set aside for valuable feedback that's submitted during the judging week (06.10.25 to 12.10.25).
Prizes can be paid via VeWorld wallet or Bank Transfer
Prize distribution timeline: Rewards will be distributed within 10 working days after announcement
Participants are solely responsible for complying with all applicable tax obligations.
