VeBetter is VeChain’s onchain governance and community rewards protocol. It introduces a decentralized participation model that enables users to vote on sustainability-related initiatives and earn rewards for contributions aligned with VeChain’s mission of driving real-world impact.

Built on the VeChainThor blockchain, VeBetter aims to bring transparent decision-making and token-based coordination to the forefront of the ecosystem. It is powered by a dual-token model: B3TR, used for governance, and VOT3, used for voting. This separation allows the system to remain resilient, fair, and resistant to manipulation while incentivizing ongoing user engagement.

Core Architecture

At its core, VeBetter relies on a decentralized application stack that enables wallet-based authentication, proposal submissions, voting execution, and incentive distribution. The protocol’s smart contracts are deployed on the VeChainThor mainnet, and users interact via web-based apps connected through VeWorld, Sync2, or other VeChain-compatible wallets.

VeBetter features a transparent proposal system, where ecosystem participants can suggest ideas ranging from funding community projects to protocol-level changes. After undergoing an eligibility and review process, these proposals are subject to community voting using VOT3 tokens.

Voting takes place in fixed cycles. At the end of each cycle, successful proposals trigger onchain execution or funding flows, while participants receive B3TR as a reward for contributing to the governance process.

Dual-Token System: B3TR and VOT3

• B3TR: Airdropped to eligible participants or earned through ecosystem activity, B3TR functions as a reward and reputation token. Holding B3TR may unlock future access to governance rights or special programs.

• VOT3: Used for actual onchain voting. VOT3 is non-transferable and issued specifically for participating in governance rounds. This design ensures that influence cannot be bought or transferred; it can only be earned.

This architecture reinforces long-term alignment between stakeholders and prevents common issues seen in token-weighted governance, such as vote buying or whales dominating proposals.

Real-World Integration

VeBetter is not a theoretical experiment. It is actively funding real projects focused on sustainability, education, and adoption. From community recycling initiatives to environmental research programs, funding decisions are shaped by transparent public input and community-defined values.
