1. The Steady Pulse

Lesson 1: The Heartbeat of VeChainThor

Think of a block as a "snapshot" of the entire network's state at a single moment.

On VeChainThor, a new block is produced approximately every 10 seconds.

Nice! This heartbeat never stops—even if there are zero transactions to process, the chain keeps pulsing.

"On-chain vs off-chain works like..." a clock. Every 10 seconds, the "hands" move forward, and a new batch of data is permanently "inked" into history.

Technical Update: While the network originally used Proof of Authority, it officially transitioned to Delegated Proof of Stake (DPoS) recently!

This change ensures a sustainable and decentralized heartbeat for every snapshot.

You’re getting it! Let's see what’s inside one of these snapshots.
